Approximately 50 percent of participants did not challenge, and those that were rejected in mid committed a serious error.

Kia said the driver narrowly missed a pedestrian who stepped on the road between two parked cars.

In light of the results of the experiment, the company has called for more to be done to improve driving standards in the United Kingdom.

Sue Mulcaster spokesman said the company ensures its cars equipped with a number of protective systems.

But she said: "Realistically, we hope that drivers will not have a reason to study these functions of security, and fighting for higher standards of driving, [we] aim to reduce the number of road accidents in Great Britain."

Meanwhile, drivers who take every precaution to avoid a collision may be able to build a healthy no claims discount on their car insurance.
